Necessary
Sometimes a fresh baked loaf of bread is a necessary conpliment to dinner. Today is one of those days. This will accompany some cheese and spinach ravioli and roasted asparagus from our local farmers market!
I've just started following you (a little late to the party, I know), but I have to know your bread recipe! Do you use a bread machine, or do it by hand? This bread looks absolutely delish!! I'm loving sitting here with my organic steel cut oats & coffee, while reading from the beginning of your blog! What a great way to spend this cold morning! I've just now started actually blogging, but it's great to see another Mountaineer with the same visions that our family has! :-D Ashley, @ awesomesontheroad.blogspot.com
Thanks, Ashley! You are a trooper starting from the beginning! :-)
I make my bread by hand. I used to have a bread machine, but then I learned how to be friends with yeast! This recipe is super easy!
1/2 TBS yeast 1 tsp salt 1 cup water 2.5 cups water (I generally use around 2, but you may need more)
Mix the water, yeast, and salt together. Add in half the flour. Continue adding flour until the dough is slightly sticky (if you've made bread before, you know what I mean...I'm terrible with descriptions!). Let the dough raise for 1 hour. Shape it into loaf shape of your choice and preheat your oven to 400. Bake for 25 minutes. And enjoy!
I love this because it's so quick and easy. Let me know if you make it and how it turns out!
I'm going to take a stab and guess that the second time you mentioned 'water', you really meant 'flour'? ;-) Getting ready to make it now! I'll let you know how it turns out!!
